Ingredients:- 3/4 cup washed moong ko dal- 1/4 cup washed mas ko dal- Cooking oil for frying- 1 and a half cups of yogurt- 1 teaspoon salt- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed powder (roasted)- 3 tablespoons tamarind chutney (imli ko achar)- 1 cup bhujiya

Method

1. Mix both the moong and maas dal and wash several times until the water is clear. Soak the dal in 4 cups of water for at least 6 hours.2. Drain the water and blend it into a very creamy paste, and add salt and red chili powder as desired. Whip the batter for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.3. In your right palm, take some batter and form a round ball with a hole in the center to make baras.4. Heat up a flat frying pan with no more than 1/2 inch of oil, then dip one tablespoon of batter into the oil (the batter should not be covered by oil). Fry the bara until golden brown.5. Place all the cooked bara in lukewarm water and soak for 20 minutes, then squeeze out any excess water without breaking them.6. Take two cups of yogurt and smooth it using a spoon, then add one cup of water to make it more smooth. Add salt to taste.7. Soak all the bara in the yogurt batter for 20 minutes.8. Place the baras in a serving dish, then pour some extra yogurt over them before serving.9. Sprinkle salt, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, and bhujiya on top.10. Drizzle tamarind chutney as the finishing touch!
