- 2 medium sized bitter gourds
- 1 large potato (optional)
- 1 large onion
- 1 medium tomato
- 1 table spoon mustard oil
- ½ teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2-3 green chilies
- Salt to taste
Method
1. Start by washing the bitter gourds and cutting them into small slices.
2. Heat up a pan with mustard oil and once it’s hot, add in the cumin powder and turmeric powder. 3. Add in the onion, potato and tomato and let them cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
4. Now add in the bitter gourd slices along with green chilies, salt to taste and mix everything together well.
5. Cover the pan and let it cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
6. Once the bitter gourd is cooked, turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
