- 1 cup of Suji- 1/3 cup of Ghee- More than half a cup of sugar- 10 to 15 cashews- 10 to 15 raisins- 5 cardamom pods- 3 to 4 almonds (optional)- 2 tablespoons of grated coconut (optional)

1. Heat the pan and add ghee into the hot pan. Allow it to heat up before adding the suji, making sure to stir constantly.2. Keep stirring until the suji turns brown in color, and then add in the sugar, stirring well again.3. Now pour in the water and stir until all of the ingredients have been amalgamated.4. Add in the cashews, raisins, almonds and cardamom pods, stirring continuously to make sure everything is mixed evenly.5. Keep stirring until you get a thick mixture that has come together into one mass - this should take around 15 minutes.6. Once your halwa is ready, transfer it onto a plate or bowl and let it cool slightly before serving.
